Wes is a third generation active firefighter with the Lafayette County Fire Department in Mississippi, where he holds the rank of Captain and has been with the LCFD for about ten years. He is also a career firefighter with the Oxford Fire Department in Oxford, Mississippi where he is a Lieutenant. Wes holds many certifications including NFPA 1001 I-II, 1002, Instructor 1041-I, Rope Rescue Technician I-II, Fire Officer 1021 I-II, Confined Space Rescue, NFPA 472 Technician, and many other certificated and non-certificated classes. His formal education includes a Bachelor’s of Professional Studies from the University of Memphis in Fire Administration and Fire Prevention Technology. Throughout Wes's career, he has received several awards including the Valor Award (Mississippi Burn Association), Firefighter of the Year (LCFD), and a Letter of Commendation from the City of Oxford.
